Patch Tests

A patch test will be required 48 hours (minimum) prior to treatments which include the use of pigment, tint, glue or other topical chemical placed on the skin. Treatment cannot be performed without the client having been tested.

Patch tests can be performed in salon or they can be sent out in the post to clients who can carry out the patch test at home.

Please fill out all documentation and contact me with your test results.

Please read all instructions specific to the patch test you are undertaking.

After 24 hrs examine the skin where the patch test was carried out making sure there are no reactions i.e no redness, swelling, irritation or itching. If you experience any reactions, immediately remove the plaster and flush the area with cold water. Contact me with photos of the area to discuss your options. You will be offered a scratch test in the salon if you have any sensitivities to cosmetics before any permanent make treatments.

Please advise Jemma if you have recently had a pregnancy as sometimes women's skin sensitivities change after being pregnant. I will always patch test after a client has finished breast feeding.

Please inform Jemma if you are having or have had a Covid or flu vaccination. Permanent make up cannot be performed 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after having a Covid vaccination.
